One.Tel faces 12 month ban

One.Tel is disputing a potential 12 month ban prohibiting the telco from selling its products and services door to door. One.Tel has been accused of breaking the Trade Practices Act by asking would-be customers to sign a document that enabled the transfer of their telephone services to One.Tel after telling them it was to receive additional information only. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has sought to impose harsher penalties on Ont.Tel but a disagreement between the two parties has seen the ACCC seeking a hearing in Federal Court today.
