One.Tel Next Gen deadline extended

Telstra has extended its deadline to One.Tel Next Generation mobile subscribers to switch over to its MobileNet network to this Saturday June 30. At this stage it appears the Next Gen network is still operating normally but users face disconnection after June 30. The deadline has been put back from June 24 after Telstra had problems sending out inactive SIM cards to One.Tel Next Generation customers which it wanted to distribute before the network was turned off.

Next Gen customers will receive an inactive Telstra SIM card in the mail and will then need to call the phone number provided to make the card active and complete the switch-over.

If not wanting to change over to Telstra, do nothing when you receive the SIM card. At this stage, you will be turned off from the network this weekend.
