One.Tel Next Gen, landline, and ‘Net customers

One.Tel fixed-line, internet and Next Generation mobile customers face no deadline or have any decision yet to make in the wake of the decision to wind the company down.

The current ‘switch or disconnect' deadline applies only to mobile subcribers who connect via the Optus network.

It is planned that those who use One.Tel for long distance of local landline calls, One.Net internet access or whose mobile is connected to One.Tel's own Next Generation network will have their accounts transferred to another service provider or providers as yet unknown.

One.Tel's administrators are currently negotiating with other providers to sell these subscriber bases en masse with deals expected to be announced in coming days. It is not known yet how this might affect Next Gen mobile customers on long-term contracts.
