Online fare bookings gaining popularity
Research has shown that more Australian travellers are booking online thanks to the entry of new domestic carriers and cheap tickets. Figures from Roy Morgan Research indicate that 10.3 per cent of new online users in August were consumers who had not travelled by plane in the last 12 months, up from 4.9 per cent in April. The lure of discount tickets, in some cases available exclusively on the internet, is successfully driving consumers online.
