Optus all set to switch Orange customers over
Over the next week Optus will be contacting about 270,000 Orange mobile customers to inform them that they are being automatically switched over to Optus plans.
Tony Rusten, director of customer changeover at Optus, said Optus would be trying to put customers on a plan as similar to their old plan as possible. He also said customers would be given a 21 – 30 day consent period.
Obviously customers will not be placed on a plan identical to their old Orange plan and at this stage it is hard to say whether customers will be disadvantaged or not. However, one major point of difference is that Optus only offers plans with per 30 second billing while some Orange plans operate on per second billing.
