Part timers should get family tax benefits

Family Tax Benefit Part B should be extended to couples who work part-time and share parenting, the Commonwealth sex discrimination commissioner, Pru Goward, says. Family Tax Benefit Part B is paid to families with one breadwinner and a stay-at-home carer. The commissioner told ABC lateline that parents who share home duties by both taking on part time work should be eligible to claim the benefit.
