Phone card credit at ATMs
By August this year, Optus and Westpac customers will be able to use ATMs to recharge their phone cards. Consumers will be able to buy Optus phone vouchers by having their Westpac cheque or savings account debited when using their ATM card. Customers will then be issued with two receipts, one a usual account of the transaction and the other issuing a phone voucher number, which is then used in the usual phone credit procedure. Likewise, Telstra and ANZ will provide a similar service for Telstra's ‘U' branded prepaid mobile phones.
