Platinum cards hit back with great offers
Just as debit cards are proving popular with consumers, high cost platinum rewards credit cards are struggling to attract attention from budget savvy consumers.
The Citibank Clear Platinum Card is offering no interest on purchases or balance transfers for the first six months.
The Citibank Platinum Rewards Card is offering a sweetener of 40,000 bonus rewards points when you first spend on the card, but with a 20.99% interest rate and $199 annual fee this card is only suitable for those who pay off their balance in full every month and spend more than $50,000 a year.
Bankwest is offering up to 15,000 bonus Qantas points on sign up to its premium cards.
Commonwealth Bank’s Diamond rewards card program is marketed as being above even platinum cards in the benefits it offers to cardholders.
