Plenty of no-fee bank accounts to choose from
Low-income earners are paying $163 million a year (collectively) in avoidable bank fees.
The Australian Bankers' Association' chief executive Steven Munchenberg said banks had all introduced basic bank accounts with no charges.
Mostly people need to show a government concession card, health care card or pension card to qualify for the no-fee accounts.
However there are no-fee transaction bank accounts available to anyone. No one needs to be paying ongoing fees for their everyday bank account
