Qantas devalues frequent flyer points

Qantas will introduce changes to its frequent flyer program from May 2005, with more points required to redeem long-distance flights, while access to upgrades will be reduced. The number of points required to access domestic flights will be reduced on a handful of routes. One sweetener is that the airline will allow families to share frequent flyer points. Frequent flyer points are the primary reward, and in some case the only reward, that credit card users can earn on many popular but expensive credit card options heavily promoted by banks.
