Qantas passengers go hungry

In an ironic twist in the current discount airfare war, Qantas was forced to run several domestic flights last night without meal services. A snap strike by Transport Workers Union caterers over Olympic pay bonuses meant Qantas joined its no-frills rivals, Impulse and Virgin, in not offering in-flight meals to passengers. Striking workers are due to meet again this morning to discuss further action.
