Qantas points lose their value

Commonwealth Bank credit card holders have less than two weeks to get the full value of their reward points redeemed for Qantas flights. From July 1, the value of existing points held by standard cardholders will be cut in half: Cardholders booking for Qantas flights will need to spend $2 for each point. Gold card holders will have to spend $1.50 to earn one Qantas frequent flyer point. Only CBA platinum card holders will continue to get Qantas points on a one-for-one point basis. The CBA also has a deal with Flight Centre so that cardholders can redeem their reward points for travel vouchers and also fly with a range of other airlines on the existing point-for-point basis.
