RBA chief expects more rate rises

The departing Reserve Bank governor, Ian Macfarlane, has said that interest rates will rise again. Macfarlane, who will retire this week, said the historically low rates had been an aberration. “I think if the world is behaving normally, interest rates should be normal,” he told ABC radio's Sunday Profile program. “And I think we are moving in that direction, and we will get there. But we certainly had an unprecedented period of low interest rates.”
