RBA warns property investors – again

The Reserve Bank of Australia warned property investors about “ongoing risk” in real estate markets. The RBA also called on lenders to keep lending standards ‘prudent.’

The RBA says large numbers of planned new apartments in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane could put downward pressure on rents and values.

The RBA said investors may need to service their mortgages while earning lower rental income, and investors who face difficulties making repayments may not be able to sell the property easily.
