Rural towns apply for mobile coverage funds

The funding deadline for the Commonwealth's five year, $250 million Regional Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund, called Networking the Nation, is set for early April. Several rural councils are calling for expressions of interest for mobile telephone coverage. Richmond Valley Council, Cessnock City Council, Tumbarumba, Holbrook and Towong Shire Councils are preparing applications to secure grants in order to get mobile coverage for their areas.
