SA hit by search-fee rise

Home buyers in South Australia are facing higher fees when purchasing properties, since changes were introduced following the State Budget, says the SA Opposition leader, Rob Kerin.

The fee for a property title search – a Section 7 search – has increased by more than 30 per cent, from $137 to $180. This increased fee will apply to all property transfers. It follows another increase announced in last month's Budget: stamp duty has been lifted on the sales of all homes over $200,000.
