Small business still paying 9 per cent
Small businesses, the minister for small business and small business lobby groups will meet the Australian Bankers Association in Melbourne tomorrow to discuss access to credit issues. The council of small business says many businesses are still paying around 9 per cent interest on their loans and credit, despite six months of interest rate cuts by the Reserve Bank. Some banks are advertising special services for small businesses but when customers rang to find out more, they were put through to call centres where information was not available.
