St George still most popular business bank

The TNS Business Finance Monitor has seen a long-term improvement in business customers’ satisfaction with their banks since the programme started in 2001. However, the steady climb in satisfaction did slow in 2009, with many institutions seeing significant declines in business customers’ satisfaction across the year.

In the 12 months to May-10, 72.0% of business banking customers were satisfied with the relationship with their main financial institution (MFI). This was a decline of 4.5% compared to the same time last year.

The four majors have generally been impacted more by the downturn (down 5.5% across the year). ANZ and Westpac have the highest levels of satisfaction of the big four (ANZ at 73.8% and Westpac at 70.9%), with CBA and NAB trailing slightly (at 68.0% and 65.4% respectively). St George, continues to have its nose in front of the majors at 74.1%.
