Super members in the dark on contributions

Members of superannuation funds will no longer receive quarterly statements on their super contributions from their employers, under changes to the law adopted by federal parliament. The Labor Party allowed the passage of amendments to superannuation laws despite opposition from unions and consumer groups, which were concerned the changes would make it harder for workers to know whether they were being paid their full entitlements. Members of super funds will now learn about their contributions from the half yearly or annual statements provided by their fund.
