Tax Office will bankrupt more small business tax debtors

The Australian Taxation Office said it would move to bankrupt more small businesses. The ATO says there are 800,000 small-business owners who owe a combined tax debt of $6.5 billion. The ATO said it would commence a program of calling delinquent tax debtors at home. The inspector-general of taxation has found that in some cases the ATO had been too lenient with small-business debtors.
