Virgin plans to increase Bris-Mel flights

New airline, Virgin Blue will increase the number of daily return flights on its Brisbane-Melbourne route from three to five. Virgin Blue chief executive Mr Brett Godfrey revealed intentions of adding another aircraft once it moves into a new terminal at Melbourne airport. Mr Godfrey said that once approved, Virgin would begin flying five daily return trips straight away.

Virgin Blue Airlines’ plans to launch a Sydney-Melbourne route have been brought forward to April 2001 instead of late 2001.

Virgin Blue’s new Brisbane-Adelaide route will begin six weeks ahead of schedule, commencing on December 15 with a $149 one-way fare.
