What is the lowest variable home loan rate now?

Home loan interest rates are starting to move after 12 months of relative stability. According to the latest calculations from financial comparison website iSelect, on a $300,000 30-year home loan the lowest variable rate right now, in May 2016, is 3.98 per cent. The highest interest rate in the market is 5.19 per cent p.a. That is a difference of 1.21 per cent and could represent thousands of extra dollars in repayments.
