Will your bank be nice – after the election?

The big banks have an image problem and are featuring in the federal election campaign because Labor has promised a banking royal commission.

That’s surely one reason why three of the big four banks passed on the full 0.25 percentage point interest rate cut from the Reserve Bank in May. How will the banks treat the next rate cut? The answer to that may depend on who wins the election.
