Women miss out on savings and super

Women need to make more of an effort to make voluntary contributions to their superannuation and develop an investment strategy because, on average, they have much smaller super balances and investment portfolios than men do. In particular women need to consolidate their super, choose a good low cost fund, find out about the government's co-contribution scheme, sign a co-habitation agreement with their partner and create a long term savings plan. The BankWest Telenet saver account can receive part of a person's pay direct from the employer. A Member's Equity share investment fund can be started with zero dollars upfront and a monthly contribution of $80.
