Young singles most likely to be bankrupt

The Insolvency and Trustee Service of Australia said that 20 per cent of bankrupts are under the age of 30, 28 per cent are aged between 30 and 39, and 52 per cent are older than 40. The ITSA survey showed 47 per cent of bankrupts are single and with no children, 20 per cent are couples with children, 18 per cent are couples without children and 15 per cent are single parents.
