Zero interest periods get longer and longer

There is an increasing number of great balance transfer deals to choose from. Credit card providers are aggressively pushing balance-transfer deals. Dramatically longer zero-interest periods are a feature of the market right now. Consumers need to carefully compare the deals and factor in fees to determine the best balance transfer deals for their needs.

The typical interest-free period is now 12 months or longer, up from three months just a few years ago.
