Our Licensing & Authorisations
InfoChoice is a financial service business dedicated to providing information to enable consumers to be better informed regarding financial products that are available to the public.
InfoChoice is authorised, pursuant to its Australian Financial Services Licence No. 349445, to provide general and personal financial product advice. InfoChoice currently only provides general advice, through the provision of:
- an internet-based information service for consumers to find, compare and connect to financial products;
- data services to product providers; and
- financial calculators and tools.
- In making any general product recommendations, InfoChoice does not consider whether they are appropriate for personal circumstances, financial situation or needs. As a result, users should have regard to their own personal circumstances, before buying or investing in any product.
InfoChoice is authorised to provide general advice in relation to the following financial products:
- Deposit and payment products
- Debentures, stocks and bonds
- General insurance
- Life insurance products that include risk and investment
- Managed investment schemes
- Retirement savings account
- Securities
- Superannuation
Product comparisons based upon factual information are provided, as well as links to relevant institutions websites to allow access to Terms and Conditions and Credit Guides.
InfoChoice also holds an Australian Credit Licence 349445 and is authorised under its credit licence to engage in credit activities other than as a credit provider.
Relationships
Savings.com.au Pty Ltd ACN 161 358 363 is the parent company for InfoChoice. Due to common ownership, InfoChoice, Savings.com.au, loans.com.au and Firstmac Limited ACN 094 145 963 are all associate entities and as such, part of the Firstmac Group.
InfoChoice and its directors, officers and/or representatives do not have any relationships that would influence the advice it provides.
How we generate revenue
InfoChoice may receive fees and commissions in relation to the following:
- Subscription fees for data provision
- Fixed cost development, licensing and hosting fees for the use of financial calculators, key facts sheets and research.
- Advertising placements on InfoChoices' website: InfoChoice may receive a fee from the advertiser for display of an advertisement on the InfoChoice website and/or other digital entities including but not limited to social media and email
- Commission share on referrals to third party advice providers (mortgage/finance, financial institution or any other third party). Income could be an upfront commission and/or ongoing commission. The commission depends on the amount of the finance, cost of the product or other factors and may vary from product to product.
- Fees for referrals from a product or product provider table on the InfoChoice website and other digital properties including but not limited to social media and email. The fees can be calculated via a number of different methods including by number of referral clicks, number of leads created from supplied referral clicks, number of applications (both preliminary and approved) and fixed sponsorship fees.

How are InfoChoice Staff remunerated?
Our staff are paid a salary and may receive bonuses, which may be based on several factors including performance, customer service and quality assurance scores.
Will anyone be paid for referring customers to us?
InfoChoice may pay fees to third parties for referrals to the InfoChoice website
Privacy of your information
InfoChoice’ s Terms of Use apply to your use of this service. Please review these carefully. If you use the InfoChoice website, you will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.
We collect, use and disclose your information in accordance with our Privacy Policy which is available on our website. You are entitled to obtain access to the information which we hold about you at any time by contacting the editor@infochoice.com.au.
Compensation Arrangements
InfoChoice holds professional indemnity insurance which satisfies the requirements for compensation arrangements under section 912D of the Corporations Act. Subject to its terms and conditions, the policy provides cover for civil liability resulting from third party claims concerning the professional services provided by InfoChoice and its employees and authorised representatives, including where that employee or authorised representative has subsequently left InfoChoice.
What to do if you have a complaint about us
Should you wish to lodge a complaint about InfoChoice or our services, please notify us in writing at our Contact us address, by email to complaints@savings.com.au addressed to the Complaints Officer or by calling us on 07 3017 8813.
Our policy is to immediately seek to resolve and acknowledge receipt of complaints. We will then investigate the complaint and decide what action (if any) to take. Our decision will be communicated to you within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with how your complaint has been resolved you may contact the external dispute resolution scheme, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), details below.
