Bendigo Bank Goes Bush
Bendigo Bank continues in its attempts to woo country customers, by announcing two recent initiatives aimed at rural communities.
The first has been a pilot program, set up in two small Victorian towns, in which a partnership between Bendigo Bank, and the local community, provides a part-time branch in town. The first two pilot branches will be opened today in the neighboring Wimmera townships of Rupanyap and Minyip. The community and the bank share any branch revenue, with the community re-investing in the area.
Bendigo has also introduced a new product, aimed at primary producers. It’s a transaction account, that pays an interest rate normally associated with a cash management account, and a overdraft facility at 7.99% and a margin with twenty free transactions a month, this account is almost worth starting a farm for.
