Shoppers love PayWave & PayPass

Use of cash at Coles supermarkets is falling rapidly. Now just over half of all payments at Coles are cash payments.

Head of payments at Coles, Shane Harris, said the decline in cash comes as PayPass and PayWave payments on a credit or debit card or mobile device are becoming increasingly popular.

Harris said 80 per cent of Coles MasterCard payments are via PayPass.

Harris said PayWave and Paypass takes half the time of a normal card payment with a PIN payment.
