Aussies taking out separate holiday saving account
The majority of holidays taken by Aussies are paid for with savings, not credit according to a survey of 7,000 people by travel website lastminute.com.au.
"For many people, living at home with Mum and Dad, taking on another job or giving up nights at the pub is a price they are willing to pay for amazing adventures and priceless memories," lastminute.com.au general manager Kirsty La Bruniy says. "Travel is an investment Australians are willing to make sacrifices for."
Westpac financial planner David Simon says some people have a separate travel savings account so they can save without incurring any nasty surprises.
