Terrorism is investors’ big issue
A survey by online broker TD Waterhouse has found that terrorism has emerged as the No. 1 issue of concern to investors. The survey undertaken in October following the Bali bombings found that 37 per cent of investors thought terrorism would have a significant impact on the Australian sharemarket for the following three months. In August, only 4 per cent of investors surveyed held this fear. Other major issues of concern were corporate governance – cited by 86 per cent of survey respondents – and the ongoing uncertainty about world economies (25 per cent).
