Customers frightened off by NAB scandal

National Australia Bank is losing new customers to rivals Westpac and the Commonwealth Bank due to the currency options trading scandal, according to a survey by Nielsen Media Research. Just 2.6 per cent of Australians say they would choose NAB as their bank within the the next 12 months compared with 5.6 at the end of December. The decrease is equivalent to 28,000 new customers.NAB's customer satisfaction has dropped to 77.6 per cent, the lowest amongst Australia's largest banks. Westpac has benefited most from NAB's woes with the number of people choosing Westpac as their next-preferred bank rising to 16.4 per cent and its customer satisfaction rate to 85.6 per cent. The CBA has also benefited with potential new customers rising to 9.3 per cent from 3.8 per cent.
